Hello! Decided to post the comic a little early tonight! Woot!
A Few Thoughts on Writing Mentors and Villain Characters
I've been having fun writing Minerva's backstory. I don't know how much of it I'll reveal in the comic, but having a deep backstory- even for a minor character is like drawing a human figure with the skeleton in mind. It's fun writing matriarchal/mentor/older villain characters in general because there's this whole other story underneath the story you're reading right now. Do these characters accept their role as the mothers, fathers, and teachers of the next generation? Or are they envious of that generation and want to sabotage them to keep themselves in a place of power and glory?
It's fun to think about these things.
What about you? What was a villain/mentor character you wrote and what inspired you to write them?
