How Do You Do Effective Exposition and World Building?

Snuggling... apparently. 

No, seriously. My goal here is to make exposition seem as natural as possible. Every conversation that takes place has a point: either it's establishing relationship dynamics between characters, building on the plot, or building on the world, but the trick is making the exposition feel like a real conversation. I personally think the best way to do this is tying the exposition to a way where it matters to the main character's personal goals and motivations, and, by extension, your readers. Hopefully I'm pulling this off okay. Exposition is hard- especially with comics taking place in expansive fantasy worlds. I'm actually taking this oppportunity to learn about exposition from Hello Future Me.

Thankfully, I took the lazy route and made one of my main character's motivations wanting to learn more about an important aspect of the world. If there's exposition about stuff about how dragons work in this world, it feels natural, because that's important to him. One of the nice things about comics is you can show cool flashback scenes while a character's talking about something. 

My little sister said Patricius looks like a Demon Hunter... and I'm okay with that. ^_^ I like to think he'd have fun playing one if he did play World of Warcraft.
