Are you the villain in someone else's story?

Patricius has a different effect on everybody so far. Some of you told me you weren't sure what to think about him, some of you didn't like him and view him as a tyrant, some of you DID like him and noted that joke he made at Ari asking if she was planning on spending the night and read it as approval for our couple.

And honestly, this makes me happy. 

I wanted the elves in my story to have a mix of the noble, cultured fantasy elves and the mischievous tricky ones of old folklore, so hearing feedback like that makes me very happy.

One of the things I've been noticing with my characters is that I always introduce them one way, then the more you get to know them, they turn into the complete opposite once they're out of the environment that's making them like this. I'm not really sure what that means, but I'm having a lot of fun with the idea that people are layered and complicated. The thing I'm learning to watch out for is keeping the characters consistent.

Giving them grounded values, detailed backstories, and motivations seems to be the way to go.
