I Just Wanna Say Something Right Now...

romance.

I think a lot of romance books, movies, and comics are utter trash.

That being said, back when I was a prudish, timid 13 year old, I wanted to write these characters already in a relationship. But again, too prudish to have them kiss or do anything romantic.

What I ended up doing was writing them more like friends or roommates with a fondness for eachother. They were a team. They supported eachother, they got in fights, they had funny conversations and banter. One would get the other in a crazy scheme and the other just goes with it because they love them. So, that part I'm definitely looking forward to getting to again!

Even back then, I didn't agree with the idea that characters can't already be in a relationship and written well. Relationships are challenging! They require effort to maintain, and if you have shared goals and an epic story that's not completely riding on the romance, then it can make things a lot more interesting!

Years later, now that I have an actual story with plots and villains and adventures, I was not looking forward to writing them meeting. That part just doesn't interest me because we've seen it so many times. I wasn't too pleased with last week's comics because I thought they were too cheesy.

...Then you guys made nice comments about them on Webtoon!

Do You Want To See How a Fantasy Language is Made?

I came up with the idea for an ancient Draconian language. One that all dragons are born knowing before learning to speak any other languages. It will serve elements of the story (though I won't say exactly what because spoilers).

My brother graduated with his degree in Linguistics and we are meeting every week to help create the language. Yesterday, we chose the vowels and consonants that will be in the language!

You can come too! See this language AS IT'S BEING MADE!
